Accommodation Cost

A study permit for Canada costs CAD 150 (as shared on the CIC Website) as per the current exchange rate. The major living expense includes accommodation, food, and travel expense. The food and transportation cost is also very affordable in Canada. For example, the local transportation cost in Toronto comes around CAD 122.45 per month and the grocery budget comes around CAD 200 to CAD 400 per month. IELTS Requirement For Courses In Canada

Most of the colleges and universities in Canada require your IELTS score during college application. A student visa for Canada requires students to have a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or above with at least 5.5 in each of the 4 modules for undergraduate programs. If a student is going to pursue Graduate courses, he/she needs to have an overall IELTS score of 6.5 and above with at least 6 in each of the 4 modules. Mostly Diploma and certificate level programs may accept a lower score, but it is highly recommended that you score 6.5 or equivalent. TOEFL and PTE are also accepted in Canada.

There are two types of IELTS tests available, one is the IELTS Academic and the other one is the IELTS General Training.  The IELTS Academic test is for people applying for higher education or professional registration in an English-speaking environment. Whereas, the IELTS General Training test is for those who are going to English-speaking countries for secondary education, work experience, or training programs.

In the case of higher studies, you’ll need to take the IELTS academic test. This IELTS test consists of listening, speaking, reading, and writing sections.
