Laurentian has strong ties with the mining industry and is one of the few schools in Canada offering mining engineering. The Willett Green Miller Centre, a provincial building located on campus, houses the Ontario Geological Survey, the Ontario Geoscience Laboratories, the J.B. Gammon Mines Library, and the Mining and Minerals Division of the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines. The Memorial University of Newfoundland, also known as Memorial University or MUN, is a public university based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, and Labrador, with several satellite campuses. Grant Macewan University, also known as the MacEwan University, is a public undergraduate university located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The MacEwan University serves as the largest transfer-in post-secondary institution in Alberta.
